(More customer reviews)I hate flossing. Hey, we all hate flossing, don't we? But I REALLY hate flossing. I hate wrapping the floss around my finger to get a grip, I abhor reaching to the back of my mouth to get the back teeth, I despise the clicking sound of the floss as it pops out from between the enamel. And then there's all the problems with the gums, and the dentist recriminations of not flossing enough or properly or blah blah blah. I've been through all kinds of floss: starting with the dollar variety that is more wax than fiber so it feels like I'm flossing with a candle; the thick batch that makes it near-impossible to fit between my teeth and that is so coarse, it's as if i'm trying to fell a toothy forest. And the ticker the floss, the more it digs into my fingers and the less likely it will fit comfortably into the toothy crevices.
But THIS stuff, this Crest Glide Deep Clean Floss, is astounding! From the first moment I opened the top, when the floss near-floated out on a soft tendril of air, as if an ephemeral elven lock of hair (you know that's what hobbits and wizards use, right?) weaving it's way to my mouth, I knew this was the floss for me. Soft, it is: minty, wraith-thin. Did I mention soft? How many flosses can you say are SOFT?! This one is. And strong, too. Like Teflon plumbing tape, only minty, and dental.
Every time I use it, I tear up a little at it's absolute beauty and perfection: a Lamborghini of dental floss with the class of a Rolls Royce. But I steel myself and get to business. It seems a shame to actually use this little strand of heaven, but it is for teeth, and for teeth it shall be used. From the moment I slip it between the tooths and begin working, the squeaks of clean minty goodness sound out: an angel's chorus of plaque and gunk destruction. How many angels can dance on the top of a tooth? I don't know, but if they are dancing, they're using Crest Glide Deep Clean Floss as Olympic-caliber Ribbon Dancing! Add some pop-rocks, and I'd have an angelic disco in my mouth.
I cannot recommend this floss more highly. I expect that this floss will be put on the short list for canonization and soon people all over the world will be praying to Crest Glide Deep Clean Floss, Patron Saint of Good Dental Hygiene and Flossing the night before their checkups.

Oral-B Vitality Floss Action Rechargeable Power Toothbrush, Blue and White Review

(More customer reviews)I have used the Oral B line of electric toothbrushes for over 8 years. In fact, up until a week ago, my first Oral B (from the Professional Series) was still going strong. Finally, the original battery wore out as I was having to charge it almost daily.
This Vitality model is a less expensive model than my Professional Oral B, but it seems to be just as good as far as cleaning my teeth. Maybe even better due to the flossing action of the brush head(s) that come with this. The FlossAction head is slightly larger in size than the brush-head I used before (the Precision Clean). I have a small mouth inside and this new brush fits a little more snugly inside my mouth, but on the plus side, this one holds slightly more toothpaste.
What I do like:
>> The two minute timer is the BEST feature of all. Unless you have a timer, you are not brushing your teeth long enough. Trust me on this.
>> The FlossAction brush head does a good job of getting near the tooth/gum line.
>> I love the rubber grip handle. My old Oral B did not have this, and it was slippery to hold onto.
>> Will go over a week between charges. I keep it off the charger until it needs recharging.
>> Almost feels like a professional teeth-cleaning.
What I do NOT like:
>> No charging light - my old Professional Oral B had a light, there was no doubt when it was plugged in and charging.
>> The clam-shell packaging this comes in has to be the worst I've ever encountered. My knife gouged into the rubber hand grip and I nearly cut myself twice. If you have the option of choosing this with frustration-free packaging, get that one instead.
I hate visiting my dentist. Since I've been using these Oral B brushes, my exams are so good my dentist is pleased with me, but he's not making the money off me that he once did.

Oral-B Professional Care 1000 Power Toothbrush Review

(More customer reviews)I started using this toothbrush on the advice of my sister (thanks, Sis!) and also after reading some studies confirming that an electronic toothbrush that uses both rotary and in-out pulsating motion will improve gum health. My dentist did notice an improvement in tartar build up. He said that he notes when patients use this brush and that it seems to give good results.
Plus Points
1. This brush has both rotary in and in-out pulsation. This is the combination that is better than rotary-only and that studies show gives better results.
2. The replacement heads have an indicator that shows wear (the bristles become white. When the decolorization on the bristles is down to about 1/8 inch, it's time to change the head.)
3. There is a timer to let you know you have brushed 2 minutes (recommended brushing time.)
4. It does feel like "after the dentist cleaned" if you go the whole 2 minutes.
Minus Points
1. If you don't recharge according to the manufacturer's recommendation initially, you will not have a long battery life.
2. The manufacturer doesn't make this entirely clear, but you should run the charge DOWN on the brush, then recharge, for maximum life. If you don't do this, you could experience a short life-span on this toothbrush. This happened to someone I know; the company made good on the guarantee and sent a replacement.
3. If you DO let the charge run down, the brush is not so vigorous at the end and it seems a bit wimpy to do a really good job near the tag-end of the battery charge.
4. You should go the 2 minutes for effective use, but who likes to stand there, spitting foam and grimacing in the mirror for that length of time?
5. You should use it gently or you can scratch your gums.
6. The replacement heads are a bit expensive.
Despite the minus points, I rate this toothbrush five stars because I love how my teeth feel and it makes flossing afterwards better because I seem to have less tartar buildup. I am considering a second one to keep in my bag at work. I hate to brush with anything else.

(More customer reviews)I've been told by dentists for years that I needed to floss, but holding the thread between my fingers, trying to reach the back of my mouth, getting spit on my hands, losing my grip on the floss, this all drove me nuts. Finally, after being confronted with the grim truth of cavities appearing in my mouth, I decided to get serious about it and actually do it.
In the last few years, a lot of products have started coming out that simplify this process. I've tried quite a few of them. There are some where you thread floss yourself between a pair of plastic "uprights". There are some ingenious designs that put tension on the floss when you squeeze. There are any number of clever tricks, but this simple solution is far and away the best I've seen.
The shape is simple, it's easy to hold in your hand, the floss is of high quality and good strength. It's not so harsh that it hurts your gums, nor is it so soft that it shreds or breaks.
You take a flosser, scrape your teeth like your dentist taught you, and toss it. It's cheap enough (less than ten cents each) that it's economical. I highly recommend it.

Well, if you're like me and your teeth are packed pretty tightly together, flossing usually means wrapping floss tightly around your fingers, pressing hard up between your tight teeth in a sawing motion, and finally having that little thread pop through and whip your gums.
The hummingbird saves your fingers from strangulation, and the vibration makes the floss slip right through even the tightest spaces.
I was skeptical about vibrating razors too, and now hate shaving without one.

(More customer reviews)I have found this flosser to be a convenient alternative to traditional dental floss, however, I do still prefer the cleaning power of traditional waxed dental floss. For people with braces this is such a nice tool to easily get between the teeth as long as your teeth aren't too cramped. My son uses this and it does a good job, and although I've tried it, it's not something I will be purchasing for myself. For it's cheap price, however, I would recommend giving it a try. Each of the disposable flossing heads can be used at least a couple of times if desired. My only complaint is that you cannot choose the color and unfortunately my teenage son received a girl color: purple! **Update** My sons dentist said that this flosser was irritating his gums. He does change his flossing tip daily so I can only assume it's the vibrating motion that his gums don't like. We have since switched to regular waxed floss, a good quality brand called Glide, and his gums feel better.

(More customer reviews)I never floss. I have used these exclusively for the last year or so and my dental hygienist is amazed that I don't floss. Says she would swear that I floss at least twice daily and my gums are in great shape!
BTW, this review applies to the 'original' brush picks--not the 'new and improved' picks that have more and tapered bristles. The new picks are too soft and I find the bristles end up laying flat rather quickly. The original picks have 3 little bristles on each side. These seem to hold up better. I love them!

(More customer reviews)The Oral-b Vitality Dual Clean Rechargeable Power Toothbrush is the economy model of the Oral-b electric toothbrushes. The head consists of one upper and one lower brush which work independently of the other. The fat, round one on the top oscillates while the slightly squared one on the bottom moves from side to side. It comes with an additional brush head, and there are five different brush heads which can be purchased. They are described in the instructions, and there is a $3 coupon included inside the box.
After approximately two and one-half minutes, the brush slows down and gives a couple of sluggish spurts, which signals time to stop brushing. It doesn't stop by itself and has to be turned off. It is compact and fits well in smaller hands. I wasn't expecting too much from this little toothbrush but was very surprised at its vigorous action. My teeth felt extremely clean and smooth after use. I can't determine how long the battery will last, as I've used it only for a couple of weeks. I am sold on Oral-b, and certainly will consider this brand when its time for my next automatic toothbrush.
