(More customer reviews)I've been using the Braun Oral-B electric toothbrush for the last 10+ years. Usually, I buy the regular, round Flexisoft brush heads. The last time I tried to purchase them, however, the store was out of stock. But they did have these, and at a significantly lower price compared to the Flexisofts, so I decided to give them a try.
They work well. They deliver that nice, absolutely clean feeling that we all love and expect from our Oral-B's. In this regard, they are at least the equivalent of the Flexisofts, and they may even be slightly superior.
Braun embeds 4 little rubber "paddles" into the brush head to, according to them, get between the teeth giving the same benefit as Dental Floss. I can not detect any "flossing" from the brush, but that would be difficult to assess. It may be that the "paddles" do get between teeth more effectively than the regular bristles, but only your dentist would be able to tell. They cause no discomfort. The brushing feels slightly different, but not unpleasant.
The chief drawback, as far as I am concerned, is that the brush head has been enlarged to accommodate the flossers. Rather than being circular, like the regular heads, it is an oval. The width is the same, but the height is about half again as large. I think that one of the Oral-B's great strengths is that the small heads can be maneuvered in such a way that you can clean every surface of every tooth. That is slightly (but only slightly) compromised here because of the larger size.
When I need to replace these, I will look for the regular Oral-B Flexisoft replacement heads. In my opinion, those are the best. But if I can't find them, I would not hesitate to buy these again.
***UPDATE 2/2011: It amazes me, but there appears to be a *thriving* market in counterfeit Oral-B Brush Heads! I purchase them only when they come directly from Amazon. Under the price, where it says "Sold By" make sure that it says "Ships from and sold by Amazon.com." If it doesn't, look over on the right side of the page where it says, "More Buying Choices," and see if you can find one that says Amazon. Some of the Third Party Vendors are quite good, but I don't think they are carefully monitored so, when in doubt, stick with Mother Amazon.

It does the work for you, vibrating thousands of times a second, it lets you clean your teeth without scraping your gums with a toothbrush, which can cause them to recede and bleed, and it reaches between your teeth to catch plaque and germs. This is a wonderful toothbrush, and I recommend it. However, if you want a review of a toothbrush, you'll read the toothbrush page. This is a page for replacement heads.
There's a lot of confusion about replacement heads for Oral B electric toothbrushes on Amazon, and I just want to give you all some facts. There are only three kinds of heads for ALL Oral-B electric toothbrushes. Flexisoft EB17, Extrasoft EB17, and Ortho OD17. I prefer Flexisoft EB17, which is what this item is. (The Extrasoft is a little too soft, and the Ortho is overpriced)
The reason I mention this is that the prices are all over the board for what is the same product. Make sure you find the best deal, because they're all the exact same product, listed multiple times! The number after the dash (for example EB17-3) just means how many toothbrush heads you'll be receiving. You can easily find the best deal by taking a look at all the products offered on Amazon, and dividing the cost by the number of heads.

The manual says that this is 1000 series, yet it has the 30 seconds timer and presure sensor so it's in 3000 class. Lower on the manual page it says model #3375... Must be a hybrid model special for this dual packet. It comes really basic, each of the 2 units comes with the charger, one head that is mounted on, plus a small crest tooth paste and mouth wash. If you buy it for [...] and get the 50% off you get a preatty good deal, each unit at [...] ( excluding tax).

I purchased this 2-handle pack for my wife and I, but I was a little bit skeptical buying from "Hi-Tech Market" instead of amazon, but they were the only ones selling this 2-handle pack. After purchasing, the package was waiting outside my door 3 days later. Fantastic!
The package includes: 2 handles, 3 brushheads (2 flossaction, and one polishing), 1 travelcase, 2 Smart Guide displays, but only ONE charger, and base. Having only one charger is fine when both toothbrushes are used in the same home. The battery lasts for about 2 weeks, so having to share a charger isn't a problem. The charger and "base" are seperable, meaning that both toothbrushes still have a stand. One stands in the charger, and the other one in the silver/blue base. Genious! Whenever you need to charge, you just switch the toothbrushes. The charger IS also Europe-friendly. This was very important to me as I also live overseas. The charger is 100-240V~ac , so it can be used anywhere in the world without having to worry about the voltage differences.
As far as the acual toothbrush goes, its wonderful. It has 4 different modes- clean, gentle, massage, and polish. The polishing cup is just like the one they use as the dentists. The brushheads have a little chip in them that communicates with the toothbrush and automaticly changes modes to the right one. IE if you put on the polishing cup, the toothbrush will automaticly sense it and start brushing in polishing mode! It feels like it's a strong brusher and the flossaction heads leave your teeth squeky clean every time. The Smart Guide, as trivial as it may seem, certainly does fullfill it's purpose. I always make sure I brush the full time, and I'm rewarded with a happy smilyface. The quadpacer is perfect if you brush for two minutes, but if you brush for more than two minutes it will just mess you up. I find myself brushing even longer than two minutes now. After 2.30 the smile turns into an even bigger one, and after 3 the face winks. Even though it may seem childish, it certainly makes brushing your teeth for a full two minutes easy.It can even be set on longer times if you would rather prefer to brush for 3 or 4+ minutes. The Smart Guide can be programed to each toothbrush so there is no need to worry about interference if your both brushing in the same bathroom.
All in all, it's a very well thought out toothbrush. Lots of tiny nice features that make it a little bit fun to brush, and it brushes extreamly well. However, it does come with a rather heafty price tag, there IS a similar model without the Smart Guide that may be of intrest if the Smart Guide just seems too much...

Oral-B Triumph 9900 Toothbrush with Smart Guide Review

(More customer reviews)I used an electric toothbrush before this, and so I assumed that the transition would be easy. Surprise! I at first found that the Triumph was shockingly rough! For the first week I had to use it on the gentle setting, but after a week I got used to it and switched to the normal setting. I found that that the monitor is useful to time the session and I think that it is worth the extra money.
For what it is worth:
Normally when I visit the dentists office, the technician spends considerable time scraping off the plaque from my teeth. I went 2 weeks ago, and there wasn't any plaque for her to remove. None. Additionally, I have rather poor flossing habits, and the technician usually causes my gums to bleed. This time she commented on how healthy my gums were - even between my teeth (I did not admit that I had not flossed in a month). Note: I am not advocating that you don't floss, just admitting that I don't.
