Orabrush Tongue Cleaner Review

Orabrush Tongue Cleaner

I really wanted to like this product. I'm not usually a person that gets duped by infomercials, but the way they explained its design and use made perfect sense.
I was excited to get it in the mail to try it out, but once i did i was heartbroken (I know it sounds nerdy but I am really OCD about oral hygiene!). When I tried it out, it didn't feel sharp or firm enough to get the gunk off my tongue. It only took about half the residue at the most off of my tongue.
The product might work better if the entire 'brush' head and scraper was just half of its original size wider. Plus the biggest disappointment was that the long fine bristles on it was just comprised of flimsy, weak rubber which had no effect whatsoever. If the bristles were actually short, medium-strength toothbrush bristles only then might it work. I hope the company is reading this to rethink their quality and manufacturing methods
I know it's inexpensive but I would not recommend this product to anyone serious about the smell of their breath and cleanliness of their tongue. My title speaks for itself.

Why Orabrush? Up to 90% of bad breath comes from the tongue and everyone has some degree of bad breath. There are many tongue cleaner choices. Orabrush is the only one that will clean deep into the soft crevices of the tongue to pull out the bad-breath causing bacteria. This bacteria can often be seen as "white stuff", especially on the back of the tongue 2 reasons why A toothbrush will not effectively clean the tongue. The toothbrush bristles will only remove the top portion of bacteria that lie on the surface of the tongue. In fact, cleaning the tongue this way actually stimulates the bacteria in the deep indentations of the tongue to begin growing again. The stiff toothbrush bristles may also injure the soft tissue of the tongue surface. The tongue scraper will remove the top portion of the bacteria on the tongue and will not clean out the deep indentations of the tongue. This bacteria will grow again. Some scrapers are stiff and can injure the soft tissues of the tongue. but with the orabrush...... Orabrush is both a brush and a scraper. It has individual, soft, pointed, flexible bristles that clean out the small crevices and indentations on the soft surface of the tongue. Orabrush bristles loosen the bacteria and bacterial waste (often seen as "white stuff") and the scraper then removes this material from the mouth.

Dr. Wieder's Original Tung-Brush with Free Gel Sample - 1 ea Review

I've always been a little obsessed with oral hygiene. You kind of get that way after seeing your brothers get root canals, and your grandma lose all her teeth to decay - and then loose her false teeth to the family dog - who ate them (true story). Anyhow, never had a cavity, and hope never to either.

I've always tried brushing my tongue with a regular brush but it's caused a bit of a gag reflex - until I found the Tung brush and gel. The bristles are shorter and coarser, giving a scraping action. At first, it kind of feels like you're going to first base with a cat tongue but after you spit and rinse you'll be amazed how fresh and clean your mouth looks and feels.

Clinical research shows that odor-causing bacteria on the tongue are the number one cause of bad breath. There's no better tool to get rid of that nasty bacteria and "tongue gunk" than the TUNG brush. Designed to outperform tooth brushes and scrapers with greater coverage and superior comfort with no gagging. Unique bristle design penetrates tongue crevices not visible to the naked eye where odor-causing bacteria hide.

Oralgiene etc, Electric Tongue Cleaner - 1 ea Review

Oralgiene etc, Electric Tongue Cleaner - 1 ea

The Oralgiene etc. is a complete waste of money. One would expect a battery-powered tongue cleaner to help remove bacteria better than a conventional one, but it doesn't. The Oralgiene simply and meekly vibrates in your hand (not in your mouth) as you swipe the sharp tip on your tongue. Although the Oralgiene is more effective than a toothbrush, it doesn't compare to a manual tongue cleaner.

Oralgiene ETC, electric tongue cleaner is the first vibrating tongue cleaner that eliminates bad breath for a clean and healthy mouth. Tongue plaque consists of bacteria, dead tissue and debris from food particles. These offenders emit hydrogen sulfide, the culprit of bad breath. Tongue cleansing improves oral health with immediate improvement in breath. A special contour tip with micro vibrations cleans the plaque coating off the tongue without a gag reflex. It uses gentle vibrations with no pressure applied to the tongue. It is a quick and effective way to a healthy mouth and fresh breath.
