(More customer reviews)I have owned this for a couple of weeks now. I have noticed that it does exactly what it says: it imposes upon my brushes 5-6 minutes of direct UV light.
I would say that this effectively kills any bacteria, etc. I have noticed that my brushes smell clean when they come out.
The one qualm I have with this product is that the toothbrush case is sort of cheaply designed/manufactured. First, it turns on every time you open and close it. There is no way to control this. Even if you are just taking the brush out, when you close the case it will turn on. I think there should be some sort of button or switch instead of this automatic format. It wastes the battery and bulb.
Second, the case is designed like something cheap you would get at a typical Wal-Mart or what have you. It is like one of those disposable travel cases in that the hinges are just a tiny sheet of plastic that attaches the lid to the body. I foresee that, like those cheap cases, this will wear out rather quickly and the hinges will break lose.
Oh well though. At least I got good exposure to how these devices work. And I got them both for the price of one from other brands. Because of this, I will probably buy the more expensive/higher quality brands in the future since now I know this technology is effective.
