(More customer reviews)My toothbrushes were wearing out, and I needed some new ones. This set of SIX medium toothbrushes by PRESERVE, (Preserve Medium Toothbrush 6-pack), caught my eye, and seemed JUST what I needed! So, I bought it!
I like to have a lot of toothbrushes around. The DRIER a toothbrush is, you see, the longer it will last. So, by having many to rotate, my brushes last longer, and I save a bit of money!
I read in other reviews that these "Preserve" toothbrushes actually use used yoghert containers for their plastic bodies! Not only used yoghert containers -- but used yoghurt containers from STONYFIELD yoghurt....my favourite brand! That certainly was a nice touch -- but all this would be meaningless if I didn't like the way the toothbrushes could be used.
Well, I needn't have worried. The nice "backward arch" of these toothbrushes reaches ALL the way to the VERY back-most teeth in one's mouth, without too much effort! In fact, after using the PRESERVE toothbrushes, and seemingly having found some back teeth in my I didn't realize existed, (or, that is, usually found difficult to reach), I now reach them with all my OTHER toothbrushes too -- having been made so easily, and newly aware of them, due to my PRESERVE tooth-brush!
I must note here that, when I opened up the first two toothbrushes, I found it very difficult to open the, (surprisingly to me), rather very firm plastic container enveloping them. I actually put my sissors through the plastic, to open the case, cutting an inch or or so below the top. THIS WAS A BIG MISTAKE! I realized only later, that the PRESERVE toothpaste case is very different from the flimsy plastic containers used for most toothbrushes. THE REASON THE PLASTIC IN THE PRESERVE TOOTHPASTE CONTAINER IS SO VERY THICK AND FIRM, IS BECAUSE THIS IS N_O_T A "THROW-AWAY" CONTAINER! I should have realized, that with "Preserve's" deep ecological commitment, that the thick plastic container for each Preserve toothbrush is a PERMANENT container! All one need do is carefully snip the OUTER plastic from the TOP of each container. This done, you have not only a toothbrush, but a permanent "housing" for it! True, there are no holes in this housing to facilitate drying -- but it is great for travelling, etc., nonetheless.
I also notice that, yes, these "Preserve" toothbrushes are a BIT softer than medium toothbrushes are supposed to be. So, instead of calling a true "medium" toothbrush, I'd call it a "soft-medium" toothbrush. A bit harder than soft toothbrushes, a bit softer than medium toothbrushs. To me, that means combining the best of each type of toothbrush.
All in all, not a bad little package of toothbrushes. Which "taught" me how to reach my back-most teeth, better than any demtist I've ever had!
