(More customer reviews)I have purchased several of these because I liked the idea of a clean, disinfected brush. Some of the units I purchased worked for a few weeks, some for a few days, and others not at all or only one time. I have tried all types of batteries and it makes no difference. The unit turns on when the lid closing makes contact with a small piece in the base of the holder. Unfortunately, the design is such that this contact isn't secure.
Another down side is that the unit collects moisture and the dampness will cause more germs after the UV light goes out. You have to keep cleaning the inside of the unit or stains appear very quickly under the brush. Yuch!!! I've switched to the units that do the disinfecting with dry heat - much healthier!!
