(More customer reviews)I have used ALL tongue cleaners/scarpers out there and this one is the very best. For the purpose of use such an item has to be rigid enough to hold up to the downward pressure for scaping, it has to be small enough to fit all size of mouth, it has to be small enough to reach into every corner of the mouth, it has to have deep enough ridges to allow effective scaping, it has to not hurt no matter how many passes to make (you only need to make three or four passes), it has to be easy to use, it has to be streamline so you can take it with you anywhere, it has to do a great job, it has to be easy to clean--durable, simple, and lasts. This is it, it does it all, and all in one. The material combine with the design makes this the perfect product for its purpose. For best tongue cleaning results you should scrape and rinse scraper under running water after each pass. And scraping should be done before brushing your teeth. When finished, use your cleaned tooth brush to brush horizontally along the grooves for extra cleanliness. Whether needed or not, once every two weeks, I take a small glass cup (I use a small liquor shot glass) full it with hyrogen peroxide, enough to cover what has to be cleaned and leave the brush head and the scraper end in the liquid for a few hours for more serious cleaning (remember to rinse off the peroxide before your next use). Some people don't give their tooth brush much thought, but a germ crusted tooth brush can cause more harm than not brushing. Here are some other reasons why this product is the best: It is made of recycled plastic, cheaper than most useless tongue cleaners/scraper, and comes in many other happy colors. (I purchsed mine from Whole Foods--I would purchase here too, if there were other colors.) (Going off on a tangent subject: Can openers, hand held or electric, should be cleaned around the blade and drive wheel after each use but hardly anyone pay much attention to the built up gunk that accumulates around the blade and the drive wheels--yuk! Another side-bar topic: after sharpening knives with sharpening rod or stone, you must rinse the knife to remove residue of metal shards left on the cutting edge--I am mentioning this because I was stunned to see professional cooks (on TV and kitchens) go from sharpening their knife straight to cutting meat, depositing the micro metal bits in the food they're cutting. (Pardon this side tracking; one issue of health led to another--all comments are health related and in line with this comment's core discussion.))
